It is full of spring outside the windows, and the Montessori Academy also has plenty of colours and positive energy. We celebrated Earth Day and Spanish Language Day.
We sang Louis Armstrong's song "What a wonderful world" during the Earth Day celebrations, we drew our planet, and we made cut-outs from plants. We talked about how to look after the Earth and use its natural resources wisely. We built a globe model from plasticine to cut it through and get to know all the layers.
Spanish Language Day is celebrated on April 23, and was established as a tribute to the writer Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra, who died on April 23, 1616.
The Spanish language and the culture of the Spanish-speaking countries are very important in our Academy. Thanks to our teachers, it is the third language available for children, after Polish and English.
That day, we dressed in red and yellow, painted our faces, and tasted delicious food - pan tumaca with jamon iberico (ham toast). We listened to Spanish music and watched presentations about Spanish culture prepared by our Iberian teachers.
PS. Do you know what the author of Don Quixote - Miguel Cervantes and our Ms. Aymara have in common? They come from the same city!
What's new at the Academy?
