October is the month in which postal workers around the world celebrate.
- 9 October is World Postal Day, and on that day we also have Stamp Day in Poland.
- 18 October is Polish Post Day and Postman's Day.
This is reason enough to refer to these occasions in our Montessori Academy. We learned to fold origami envelopes by ourselves, created our own postage stamp designs and wrote letters to our friends.
We refreshed our Polish language lesson on how to write letters and address them correctly. We looked at stamps from all over the world and checked what they represented, thus learning about the culture of other countries. Before the various colourful promotional cards appeared on the market, stamp collecting, or philately, was popular.
Do you still collect stamps?
