To celebrate pumpkin day, we decided to combine fun with historical, botanical knowledge and culinary art. The pumpkin is a great vegetable and can be used to make lots of delicious things or to create a lantern.
As part of pumpkin history and celebrated at similar times: All Saints' Day and Halloween, we learned about the origins of both traditions, their evolution and differences.
In terms of botany, we learnt about the structure of the pumpkin, the growth cycle and looked for information about the original origin of the pumpkin. We delved into geographical aspects to discover what path the pumpkin took before it reached us.
We made culinary art by preparing various pumpkin delicacies and expressed our creativity through pumpkin-themed art projects. We created pumpkin paintings, carved lanterns, among other things.
We ran a pumpkin café which raised almost 1,000 zloty which we will donate to charity.
Thank you to everyone involved in making Pumpkin Day a success!
