This week we carried out two interesting eco projects.
Together with three other schools, we built a floating island where we planted water-filtering plants. The island floats and works in our pond at Montessori Farm School Brzezina. We achieved positive buoyancy by using recycled PET bottles.
The authors and coordinators of the project are Dorota Kwiatkowska and Ewa Martynkien and our guests were students from Mosaic and Positive school.
The project "Our footprints on the river. Floating islands" is supported by the Santander Bank Poland Foundation.
And how did we celebrate Bee Day?
We decorated houses from osmiafuture. This is an innovative project for fruit growers and everyone who benefits from insect pollination.
The houses will be populated with mason bees, which, while they won't provide us with honey, are gentle and will pollinate our flower meadow and other flowers in the area.
By the way, we listened to interesting information about solitary bees and their importance for the environment.
Thank you very much for the visit and interesting lesson: Osmiafuture.
You can admire both completed eco projects in person: in Brzezina in our pond and on the gabions in Mokronos.
