Autumn at the Montessori Farm in Brzezina – a time for shared activities and learning through experience.
At Montessori Farm in Brzezina, autumn is a special time full of colours, scents and activities that allow children to explore the world in a natural way. In recent weeks, the little explorers have participated in a variety of outdoor activities, enjoying direct contact with nature.
The children enthusiastically picked fruit and vegetables straight from the beds, learning about the life cycle of plants and the value of crops they had picked themselves. An important part of the day was also feeding our Silka chickens, which brought a lot of joy and taught the children responsibility for animals.
Autumn cleaning became an opportunity for working together – the children raked leaves and collected branches, learning to care for the space around them. They gathered lots of chestnuts, which can be used to make many things! We also discovered a visitor from faraway overseas countries, who found his way to us thanks to plants imported to botanical gardens. He has a very unpleasant smell, is red in colour and is a fungus. Do you know who we are talking about? Yes, it is the Australian octopus stinkhorn fungus, resembling a red octopus.
There was also a lot of excitement around the hearth, where there was a warm, inclusive atmosphere. Such experiences not only develop practical skills, but also build a sense of community, respect for nature and the joy of being together.
